I painted this painting with the thought of plastic in the sea, and wondered if there was life trying to thrive in that vast raft of discarded rubbish in the oceans. At the same time my boys started to leave home and dispite my desire for them to go and flourish, I wanted to protect them from all the potential hazzards out there. Luckily they have navigated their way through better than I could ever have hoped for.
